House insurance premiums are set to rise following two hard winters with higher than average claims. It may be some time until the full extent of the losses but they are expected to be high. Most insurers still have a backlog following the most recent spell of bad weather. Tradesmen are also busy doing repairs, especially any roofing contractors. Young Drivers Insurance Premiums Increase

Over the last 12 months there has been a significant increase in motor insurance premiums. Young drivers have been hit harder than anybody else. In general it is the younger drivers who cause the biggest claims and therefore get penalised more. This has led to an increase in "Fronting" which is when a parent insures a car on behalf of the young driver in an effort to reduce the insurance premium. Some insurers have voided policies where this has been proven. Some circumstances do merit the car being insured under the parents policy but please make sure the registration document, purchase receipt and any finance are in the parent's name. If any or all are in the young drivers name then it is harder to prove that Fronting has not taken place. Ask your broker for advice.

Live Web Cam - Fraserburgh Lifeboat Station

I am in the process of offering a live web cam of the Fraserburgh Lifeboat Station/statue from this website. My office overlooks the station and following a suggestion by one of my clients I have decided to get a camera and host a live picture. The quality is fairly poor in the initial test but will improve shortly. This should be live shortly. Stuart
